Yesterday, the Crypto and Digital Assets All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), co-chaired by Lord Ed Vaizey and Gurinder Singh Josan CBE MP, and supported by CryptoUK as secretariat, hosted a delegation of senior US crypto leaders from The Digital Chamber in Parliament.
The roundtable brought together UK parliamentarians alongside US and UK industry leaders for a thoughtful and wide-ranging discussion on the US approach to digital assets, recent regulatory developments on both sides of the Atlantic, and explored opportunities for deeper UK–US collaboration on digital assets.
We are pleased to welcome Gurinder Singh Josan CBE MP as the latest Member to join the APPG on Blockchain Technologies.
A cross-party group of MPs and Lords has been relaunched in the UK Parliament to help shape the UK’s approach to the regulation of its crypto and digital assets sector.
MPs and Lords have launched a new group to scrutinise the UK’s approach to crypto and digital assets as the Government plans to introduce legislation for cryptoassets by the end of this year.
The cross-party group is jointly chaired by Labour MP Gurinder Josan and former Conservative Minister for the Digital Economy Lord Vaizey of Didcot.
The Government have outlined a clear ambition to make the UK a global hub for the crypto industry, to support our growth mission. Many of our constituents are already regularly engaging with crypto. What assessment has the Minister made of the crypto sector, and particularly of the steps required to protect consumers and investors while ensuring that we allow the industry to develop?
