Stand With Crypto Mobilizes Millions of Advocates Across Four Continents in First-Ever Global Crypto Rally
Coinciding with Bitcoin Pizza Day, Stand With Crypto joins forces with PizzaDAO to stage a global day of action with more than 500 events which will broadcast live online.
LONDON — Today, Stand With Crypto, the world's largest cryptoasset advocacy organisation with over 3.7 million members worldwide, will stage the first-ever Global Crypto Rally — a worldwide day of action featuring more than 500 events spanning four continents, connected by an international livestreamed broadcast across six markets: the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Brazil and the EU.
The events — coinciding with Bitcoin Pizza Day and in partnership with PizzaDAO — will be connected via a 24-hour broadcast that connects events across all six markets in real-time, moving through each country as the day progresses. The broadcast will feature discussions on ecosystem and policy developments relevant to each jurisdiction, giving the global crypto community an opportunity to share perspectives on the policy landscape for digital assets and what that means for the competitiveness of their respective jurisdictions. Â
The events also come as critical market structure legislation advances through the U.S. Congress, serving as a major rallying point for millions of global advocates sending a message to worldwide lawmakers: the crypto voter is no longer a U.S. phenomenon, and communities across six markets want to see the same progress in their own jurisdictions.
Faryar Shirzad, Chief Policy Officer at Coinbase, a Stand with Crypto partner, said:
"This Friday’s rally across six markets proves that the crypto voter is a global phenomenon. People around the world want the freedom to exchange value peer-to-peer, and they want their governments to help make that a reality. This hunger for financial progress isn't confined to any one nation.
"Getting crypto regulation right is one of the most critical policy challenges of our generation, and it requires a global effort, not just action in Washington. Progress happens when grassroots communities organize and make their voices heard. What we're seeing this week is exactly that — on a scale that is honestly unprecedented."
Bitcoin Pizza Day has become a celebrated moment for millions of crypto users, commemorating a single transaction that changed everything: on May 22, 2010 Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two pizzas — and in doing so, completed the first real-world Bitcoin transaction in history. Â
Sam Weinrott, Founder of PizzaDAO, said:
"Bitcoin Pizza Day is the de facto crypto holiday. It's a great opportunity to bring people around the world together to share a slice in honour of the transaction that launched the industry. This year, seeing so many people across so many countries come together in one coordinated moment is something truly special."
Stand With Crypto is a U.S.-based grassroots and advocacy organization founded in 2023, bringing together millions of crypto advocates across the country, championing clear, common-sense regulations for the crypto industry and unlocking crypto’s innovation potential while fostering greater economic opportunity and freedom. Over the last two years, the organization has grown into a grassroots movement, building a powerful and unified voting bloc representing the more than 52 million U.S.-based crypto owners.Â
Since then, the movement has expanded to other countries via Stand With Crypto International, mobilizing crypto owners in the UK, EU, Canada, Australia, and Brazil. Between the two organizations, SWC advocates have contacted their lawmakers over 2.5M times and become the leading crypto advocacy movement globally.Â
