The presidential pardon power lets one person override the justice system with the stroke of a pen. That’s outdated and too easy to abuse. We’ve seen it used to bail out well-connected insiders, from crypto criminals to drug traffickers.
If we truly believe in equal justice under law, then it’s time to end the presidential pardon power.
