On Friday, The Intelligencer published an op-ed by Stand With Crypto West Virginia Chapter President Shekinah Apedo, in which Apedo highlights West Virginia's readiness to embrace blockchain technology and digital assets. In the piece, Apedo emphasizes that West Virginia is well-poised to seize the moment when it comes to adopting cryptocurrency:

• "Our state has already passed legislation that defines virtual currency for tax and legal purposes, and the Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act which enables fiduciaries to manage digital assets in estates. Governor Patrick Morrisey’s Microgrid Law supports decentralized, resilient energy systems, critical for powering data centers and decentralized physical infrastructure networks."

Apedo also notes that West Virginia's strong educational and workforce infrastructure presents an opportunity for the state to train and organize its residents for the future's digital economy, and highlights Stand With Crypto's role in organizing efforts from the ground-up:

• "The Northern Panhandle has strong educational and infrastructure assets… This presents an opportunity to partner with industry and statewide organizations to develop curriculum and workforce training for the economy of the future.The recently launched Stand With Crypto West Virginia chapter is mobilizing these efforts. We’ve already recognized Governor Morrisey, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), and U.S. Representatives Riley Moore (WV-02) and Carol Miller (WV-01) for their supportive positions on digital assets.
